Earth’s Atmospheric Layers

Troposphere

This is the first layer of atmosphere and its extends from surface is 8 to 15km. All the Weather activities take place in this region.


Stratosphere

This layer is just above the troposphere and its extends upto 50km high. The ozone layer which protects us from harmful radiation of the sun is found in this layer.


Mesosphere

It is just above Stratosphere and extends upto 80km. Meteors burn on this region hence protecting it from disaster.


Thermosphere

The temperature rises very rapidly with increasing height. Ionosphere is a part of this layer. It extends between 80 to 400km.


Exosphere

This is the uppermost layer of atmosphere. And it is very thin. It contain hydrogen and helium. And it altitude is about 500 to 1000km.
